About Me:
Rockoustic band Ophir Drive is exploding onto the Columbus rock music scene. From their first appearance as a duet at the Loft to their new full-tilt rock show, his quartet has been putting their rockoustic twist on everything from Nirvana to Katy Perry - and they write really well too. This "rockoustic" sound is influenced by a wide range of bands including Metallica, Jonny Lang, Ben Harper, Led Zeppelin, and Shakira. Every band member brings their own style to the stage, resulting in an in-your-face set of melodic rock every time they play. Some of their well-received covers include "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones and "Have a Cigar” by Pink Floyd.

Coming together not only from different backgrounds but different musical projects, Ophir Drive pleasantly surprises listeners. Sarah J (guitars/lead vocals) brought the solo acoustic version of Ophir Drive to Columbus by way of New York City in March and quickly joined forces with metalhead Jon Edwards (lead guitar/vocals) - who previously worked with Atlanta-based R&B group Urban Rockstars - through the Columbus Chapter of the Nashville Songwriters Association. A chance meeting at Picasso's Pizza brought drummer and multi-instrumentalist Brannon Tharpe of Nashville to them. Bassist Ryan Kiefer, who's been working in praise bands around Columbus, rounded out the line-up with the help of Craiglist, putting Ophir Drive in touch with their final member.

With “music that’s so much more than the sum of its acoustic rock parts,” military wife Sarah has played legendary venues including CBGBs, Billboard Magazine headquarters (NYC), the Knitting Factory (NYC), BB King’s Blues Club and Grille, and the Loft (GA). She has been featured in the Billboard Magazine website, the Fort Benning Bayonet, Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, Playgrounds Magazine, The Fayetteville Observer, and Up & Coming Weekly magazine, and performed live on WFSS 91.9 in Fayetteville, NC, and 88.1 WMVL in Purchase, NY. In May 2009 Ophir Drive was accepted as a SESAC affiliate.

“She has the “it” factor and totally owns the stage when she appears.” With the addition of Jon, Brannon, and Ryan, Ophir Drive is setting out to rock Columbus.

Jonathan Edwards

The Lunatics are in the Hall!

Life changed for me in an instant. In one moment in time I knew that my life would never be the same again. Once I was a boy who on occasion enjoyed music. Then one day I knew that music would forever consume me. I knew I would never listen to it in the same way ever again. I knew it would no longer be the melody in the background of my life. I knew it would be my wa

This Dude Abides

Working musicians often wine about another hotel gig. But me, Stan & Jim didn't complain this time. We were invited to be ourselves, play our music, and mingle among a group of very special guests:

As we played, Sam Elliott strolled in! He's humble, looked me in the eye, asked me questions, and made great conversation with one eye squinted while speaking in his deep cowboy voice! Then he signed my guitar...<</b>BR>
